Unlike vinyl backdrops that are glossy and can reflect light, dye-sublimated backdrops have a smooth, natural appearance due to their fabric base. Images are initially printed on coated transfer paper as a reverse image of the final design, which is then transferred onto various polyester fabrics through a heat press. Under high temperature and pressure, the dye turns into a gas and permeates the fabric and then solidifies into its fibers, The fabric is permanently dyed so it can be washed without damaging the quality of image.
The dye sublimation process produces brilliant colors at beyond photo-quality resolutions. We can produce dye sub prints up to 10' wide by any length. Mulitple panels can be sewn together to create virtually any size required.
